New Research: Powerful Nutrient PQQ Can Prevent Heart Failure
Brand new clinical research, published in the latest edition of Cardiovascular Diagnosis & Therapy, concludes that the essential nutrient Pyrroloquinoline Quinone (PQQ) can play a role in the prevention of chronic heart failure (CHF).

Myocardial mitochondrial dysfunction is the leading cause of CHF, which affects an estimated 6.5 million Americans (CDC). With previous studies having shown the numerous benefits of PQQ on mitochondrial function, the researchers examined whether PQQ can be effective in treating CHF.
The key findings of the study include the following
1) Pretreatment of PQQ improved pressure overload-induced cardiac remodeling and cell hypertrophy
2) PQQ pretreatment also regulated Reductive Oxygen Species levels and increased mitochondrial membrane potential
3) These factors can prevent mitochondrial dysfunction and thereby reduce cardiac damage caused by pressure overload
4) All factors combined can help prevent the occurrence of CHF according to the study’s results
